2005-06:  Competed in the 200 fly, 200 and 400 IM at the Big East Championships ... Placed second in the 1000 free and third in the 100 fly against Villanova ... Won the 200 fly and finished second in the 500 free at Seton Hall ... Swam in three events against West Virginia and placed second in the 200 Fly ... Placed second in the 200 fly and third in the 200 IM at UConn ... Swam to a first place finish in the 400-individual medley at the Yale Nutmeg Invite and finished second in the 200-butterfly ... Competed in five events at the Nike Cup, posting personal-best times in both the 200 and 400-individual medley ... Placed third in the 200 IM at Pittsburgh... Placed first in the 400 IM and second in the 200 butterfly at the Army Invitational... Placed first in the 200 butterfly and third in both the 500 freestyle and 1000 freestyle at Colgate
Transferred to Syracuse from Louisiana-Monroe where he earned three varsity letters before the school dropped swimming from its athletics program...served as captain of the Louisiana-Monroe team in 2004-05...competed at three Sun Belt Conference Championships.
High School:  Competed as an independent swimmer…his personal-best time in the 200 butterfly was 1:50.00...his top time in the 500 freestyle was 4:34.00.
Personal:  Born October 21, 1982 in Sao Paulo, Brazil…the son of Dacio and Heleny Araujo...has one brother...majoring in finance in the Whitman School of Management.
