Eugene Tulyagijja '24 was named basketball data analyst with the men’s basketball program at his alma mater in the fall of 2024.
SYRACUSE DATA ANALYST
Tulyagijja's responsibilities include supporting the coaching staff and front office operations with the men's basketball program. He provides in-depth, on-court player analytics, advanced scouting, and detailed coaching performance study. Tulyagijja also contributes player NIL evaluation and helps identify high school prospects and assess student-athletes within the transfer portal.
DRAFT ANALYTICS WITH WILLIAM MORRIS ENDEAVOR
Since November 2023, Tulyagijja has prepared pre-draft analytics for the William Morris Endeavor, a global entertainment agency. He planned, prepared and presented in-depth player development reports for various NBA and NCAA athletes. His work included insights on multiple NBA lottery picks.
AN ANALYTICS INTERN
Prior to his appointment and while earning his undergraduate degree, Tulyagijja served as an analytics intern with the men’s basketball program. He oversaw a team of eight student interns. He also was a head student manager with the team starting in September 2021.
A SUMMER WITH THE CAVALIERS
Tulyagijja was a data analyst for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the summer of 2022. He provided the front office with ticket pricing models based on team success and managed and reported on sales call campaigns and dashboards for the Cavaliers and the franchise teams.
BASKETBALL ANALYTICS BLOG AND DRAFT DIGEST
He has produced a basketball analytics blog since March 2022. The blog includes post basketball scouting, analytics, draft reports and scouting reports. From August 2023 to December 2023, Tulyagijja also worked as an analytics writer for Sports Illustrated’s draft digest, constructing player development reports and producing analytics visualizations.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
He coached with SSBA Basketball, a youth program in Bangkok, Thailand, starting in December 2014. His duties included coaching at summer camps, clinics and conditioning assessments. He helped construct a data base of more than 380 students in Bangkok. Tulyagijja’s efforts helped increase camp enrollment by 24 percent.

Tulyagijja earned a bachelor’s degree in sport analytics at Syracuse University in 2024.
