Syracuse finished 10-3, just the second 10-win season since 2000 for the program. ‘Cuse got stronger as the season wore on, going 5-1 after Nov. 1, the most wins in the final two-months of the year since 1996 at SU. He also helped prime the Orange to succeed in late-game situations, going 7-2 in one-score games.
He came to Syracuse after serving as the associate director of strength and conditioning at Georgia for two years. In his first season with the Bulldogs, Georgia won its second-straight national championship. The run to the national title included wins in the SEC Championship Game as well as the College Football (CFP) Semifinal Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Last season, the Bulldogs recorded an undefeated regular season and defeated Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
Prior to joining the Georgia staff, Barber served as the head strength and conditioning coach at Grambling State University where he was responsible for all of the Tiger sports. Barber graduated from Towson in 2016 with a degree in exercise science. He interned with the Tigers from 2015-16.
