Orange Stars Shine at Pro Day

Nineteen former Orange standouts got to showcase their skills in front of NFL scouts and personnel on Monday at the program's Pro Day.
Representatives from nearly all-32 NFL franchises were on hand for the day, which began in the weight room.
Austin Collins led the way on the bench press, repping 225 lbs. 34 times to lead all participants. Collins' mark was better than any offensive lineman at the 2026 NFL combine, and would have been second among all players, regardless of position. Collins also ran a 5.1 second 40 and a 4.6 second shuttle.
Dion Wilson Jr. also reached 30 reps on the bench, which would have tied for second at the NFL combine for defensive linemen.
David Reese then shined in the vertical, leaping 37 inches. That mark would have ranked seventh for defensive ends/edges at the combine. Devin Grant (36.5) and Will Nixon (36.5) were not far behind.
After the weight room portion of the day, record-breaking punter Jack Stonehouse went through a punting workout at the JMA Wireless Dome. Stonehouse, who attended the NFL Combine in February, did not bench or run at Monday's Pro Day.
Dan Villari showed off his athleticism in the three-cone and 20-yard shuttle. His time of 7.04 seconds in the three cone bested all tight ends who were invited to the combine, and his time of 4.31 seconds in the shuttle would have ranked second.
Grant was Syracuse's top performer in the broad jump, leaping 10' 6", besting Reese by an inch for the Syracuse lead. Will Nixon and Berry Buxton also cleared 10 feet in the broad jump.
Grant was also the top tester in the 3-cone drill, which would have tied for 10th of any player, regardless of position, at the Combine.
