Promotional Activity Procedures
As a reminder, either a Student-Athlete/Coach Appearance Form or an Autograph Request Form must be submitted and approved, prior to any student-athlete appearing (e.g., volunteer work, community service, speaking engagement, etc.) or Syracuse Uni- versity donating items to any type of group or person. The form must be completed by the requestor and submitted to the Office of Athletic Compliance. Non-profits submitting donation requests must provide a copy of their Federal IRS 501 (c) 3 documentation (New York State ST 119 is not documentation of 501 (c) 3 status). The request is reviewed to ensure it will meet applicable NCAA legislation and written approval is required from the Director of Athletics or his designee, before an appearance or donation is made.
           Following an appearance, student-athletes must sign a release statement ensuring that the student-athletes name, image or appearance is used in a manner consistent with NCAA legislation. The completed form is to be returned to the Office of Athletic Compliance at the conclusion of the event. In addition, the re- questor will need to complete an Exit Interview, which the Office of Athletic Compliance provides to the organization.
