Syracuse (3-2-2) was victimized by an own goal and lost to Binghamton (4-0-2), 1-0, at Bearcats Sports Complex in Vestal, N.Y., on Thursday night.
Binghamton extended its regular-season unbeaten streak to 19 games and remained unscored upon in the 2026 season with the triumph.
HOW THE MATCH WAS DECIDED
The lone goal was scored just 14 seconds into the second half. A Binghamton crossing pass from the right attacking side deflected off a Syracuse defender and past the goalkeeper.
ORANGE OPPORTUNITIES
Syracuse had its chances to get on the board, placing six shots on goal.
Sophomore midfielder Julia Arbelaez made a nice right foot to left foot crossover move and fired toward Binghamton's goal at 28:24, but the attempt sailed just above the crossbar. Fifth-year midfielder Vickie Jones, who had a game-high three shots, had a solid attempt at the 37:00 mark. Junior Gabby Wisbeck initiated the play on a free kick, setting up Jones who headed the ball on goal. Binghamton netminder Rebecca Kessler managed to deflect the try over the Bearcat net. Senior Leda Naihin had a direct effort with 6:24 remaining in the contest. She was fed by sophomore Abby Incorvaia but Kessler was equal to Naihin's challenge from in close.
