The 2026-27 schedule for the Syracuse men's rowing team has been announced. The slate features tradition-packed cup races, an early-spring trip out to the West Coast and the program's first home race since 2024.
The Orange race just one time this fall, on Saturday, Oct. 31, when they travel south to Ithaca, N.Y., to scrimmage Cornell and Dartmouth on the Cayuga Inlet before turning their focus to winter training ahead of the 2027 spring campaign.
Syracuse's spring racing begins April 3-4 at the Redwood Shores Invite in Redwood Shores, Calif., where the Orange will face California, Stanford and Wisconsin, three teams that had their varsity eight finish in the top 15 last season including Cal (second place) and Stanford (sixth place), both reaching the IRA Championship grand final.Â
The team returns home on April 17 to host the Goes Trophy Race against Cornell and Navy at the James A. Ten Eyck Boathouse on Onondaga Lake. It's the first time SU will host the Goes Trophy Race since 2024 as the Orange look to extend their streak to seven straight victories over Cornell and Navy, which would mark the longest win streak for any team in the cup's history since Navy won nine consecutive races from 1979-1987.
Syracuse will then travel to Fairlee, Vt., for the Lake Morey Invite on April 24-25, racing Dartmouth for the Packard Cup, Boston University for the Conlan Cup, and Georgetown in the two-day event on Lake Morey.
The postseason begins for Syracuse with the EARC Eastern Sprints on May 16 in Worcester, Mass., before capping the year at the IRA Championship Regatta, set for May 28-30 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J., pending qualification.
