OPENING DRIVE
• The Orange hit the road for the first time in 2026, heading to Pittsburgh for a Thursday-night conference matchup.
• Matt Barrie (play-by-play), Chase Daniel (analyst) and Paul Carcaterra '97 (reporter) will be on the call for the mid-week conference matchup, set for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff airing on ESPN.

FAMILIAR FOE
• Syracuse will take on two of its top-five most frequent opponents this season, starting with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
• Pittsburgh is Syracuse's most common foe, with Thursday's game marking the 82nd all-time meeting between the Panthers and Orange.
• The series between Syracuse and Pittsburgh dates back to the 1916 season.
• Syracuse will wrap up its ACC schedule against its fifth-most common opponent, Boston College, on November 21.

THE ROAD AHEAD
• Thursday kicks off a long road trip for the Orange, as they go 35 days between games at their home venue. After the game against Pittsburgh, Syracuse will have a week off followed by a trip to Storrs, Connecticut to face UConn on October 3 and finish the stretch on the road against Virginia one week later on October 10.
• The stretch is among the longest in the nation away from home this season. Eastern Michigan will have a 38-day span where they do not play in their home venue, but will play a game at Ford Field in Detroit as the designated home team. Stanford is the only Power Four team with a longer stretch away from home, with a 36-day stretch away from home (Oct. 23-Nov. 21).
• The stretch of 35 days away from home is the longest since 2024 when the Orange spent the month of October on the road with a bye during the span. The Orange went 2-1 with wins over UNLV and NC State with the lone loss coming against Pitt. The stretch was also 35-days long.

SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse and Pittsburgh clash for the 82nd time on Thursday.
• Pitt leads the all-time series, 45-33-3.
• The series dates back to 1916 with the Orange notching their first win over Pitt in 1919. Pitt won 11-straight from 1973-83. Syracuse responded with a dominant stretch, going 16-1-1 from 1984-2001.
• The 81 prior matchups are the Orange's most against any opponent.

ORANGE IN ROAD OPENERS
• The Orange have won their first road game of the season for five consecutive seasons, dating back to 2021.
• Syracuse has wins over Ohio (2021), UConn (2022), Purdue (2023), UNLV (2024) and Clemson (2025) in their first true road tests over the past five seasons.

ANGELI AIRS IT OUT
• Through two games, the Orange have thrown an ACC high 84 passes.
• Syracuse leaned on the passing game last week against Cal, with nearly 60% of their offensive plays resulting in a pass attempt.
• Quarterback Steve Angeli dished out 306 yards against Cal, his third career 300+ yard game six starts at Syracuse, putting him tied for fifth in program history for most 300-yard passing games.
• Angeli has thrown for 1,886 yards through six-career appearances in a Syracuse uniform. Among SU's career passing leaders, only Kyle McCord had thrown for more yards through his first six games with the Orange.
• Angeli's 306-yard performance extends his streak to seven games with 245 yards of passing or more.

• Give the Orange their sixth consecutive win in their first true road game of the year.
• See Syracuse snap an 11-game losing streak at Acrisure Stadium.
