Syracuse men's soccer kicks off its 2026 campaign tonight against No. 24 UConn, with first touch set for 5 p.m. at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.

Syracuse–UConn Series
The two programs last met in the 2025 season opener, when the Huskies earned a 1-0 victory over Syracuse at SU Soccer Stadium. The win snapped a four-game losing streak against the Orange dating back to 2013. UConn owns a 13-3-1 record against Syracuse at home and leads the all-time series, 19-9-3.

Syracuse Status
Junior midfielder Kelvin Da Costa was named to the 2026 ACC Preseason Watch List after a breakout sophomore season. He made 17 starts in 18 appearances, logging 1,366 minutes and recording one goal and two points.
Sophomore midfielder Bryson Rodriguez brings international experience into the season after being called up to the Costa Rican U-21 National Team for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. As a freshman in 2025, Rodriguez scored the game-winning goal against Boston College on Oct. 3 and logged 538 minutes across 11 appearances.

UConn Status
UConn returns four key starters from last season: goalkeeper Kyle Durham (Brooklyn, N.Y.); defenders Alex Tupay (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Johan Hamel (Angers, France); and midfielder Max Gummesson (Gothenburg, Sweden).
Durham enters the season as the 2026 Preseason BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and was also selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.
The Huskies were picked to finish second in the BIG EAST East Division and were ranked No.24 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll.
