Interstate 81 Rivalry Renewed

Syracuse and Binghamton will play for the second consecutive season when they meet on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at the JMA Wireless Dome.
The Syracuse-Binghamton Series:
     Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his initial year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
     The Orange have two returning regulars, sophomores Kiyan Anthony (8.0 ppg., 1.4 rpg.) and Sadiq White Jr. (6.1 ppg., 3.3 rpg.). A group of six incoming transfers includes Temple guard Aiden Tobiason (15.3 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), a junior, and guard Gavin Doty (18.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg.), a junior and 2025-26 MAAC First Team honoree at Siena.
Binghamton
     The Bearcats were 8-23 overall and 4-12 in the America East Conference. Binghamton completed its campaign with three wins in its last four contests. Levell Sanders, a former standout at Seton Hall, is in his sixth year as head coach.
     Binghamton has six returning players, including its top two scorers from a season ago. Senior center Demetrius Liley (14.6 ppg., 9.4 rpg.) started the first 11 games before an injury ended his campaign. Senior guard Jeremiah Quigley (14.5 ppg., 4.9 rpg.) was with the first unit for each of the 30 games he played in.

- Each of the previous six matchups has been played in the JMA Wireless Dome.
- The New York schools began the rivalry in 2001-02, a game won by Syracuse, 103-56.
