Sophomore forward Sadiq White Jr. led Syracuse with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting in the opener. Senior center Luke Wilson recorded nine rebounds against UConn.
SECOND-HALF SURGE
Syracuse used an 18-4 run out of halftime at Siena to turn a one-point deficit into a 13-point lead. After Siena shot over 45 percent in the first half, the Orange held the Saints to .333 shooting after the break and 4-of-17 from 3-point range. Syracuse forced 18 Siena turnovers in the game and went 18-of-24 from the free-throw line, including 11-of-13 in the second half.
