Syracuse Scheduled To Face Canisius on Dec. 16

Syracuse will host Canisius on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2026, in the JMA Wireless Dome. The Orange won the last 22 pairings with the Golden Griffins.
The Syracuse-Canisius Series:
     Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his initial year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
     The Orange have two returning regulars, sophomores Kiyan Anthony (8.0 ppg., 1.4 rpg.) and Sadiq White Jr. (6.1 ppg., 3.3 rpg.). A group of six incoming transfers includes Temple guard Aiden Tobiason (15.3 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), a junior, and guard Gavin Doty (18.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg.), a junior and 2025-26 MAAC First Team honoree at Siena.
Canisius
     The Golden Griffins were 10-21 overall and 5-15 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (now Metro Conference). Jim Christian, who was previously a head coach at Kent State, Texas Christian, Ohio University and Boston College, is in his third season in charge of the Canisius program.
     Canisius features a revamped roster that includes 13 newcomers. The lone returning player is junior guard Trevor Augustine from nearby Grand Island, N.Y. One of the roster additions is senior forward Nate Fouts, a native of Skaneateles, N.Y., who transferred from Le Moyne.
