No. 11 Syracuse opens its 29th season of play when it hosts No. 7 Maryland Friday, Feb. 6 at the JMA Wireless Dome. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m.
The Orange will support the 15 For Life Foundation which aims to provide people of all ages with ways to understand and recognize depression and mental illness potentially affecting themselves, family and/or friends.
Season and individual tickets are on sale now at Cuse.com/lacrosse-tickets.
The game will be broadcast on ACCNX and WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area.
ORANGE UPDATE
Regy Thorpe returned to his alma mater as Head Coach after spending the last four seasons at Florida and previously serving as Associate Head Coach under Gary Gait.
Thorpe helped the Orange advance six times to Championship Weekend and claimed two ACC Championships as an assistant.
PRESEASON
Under Thorpe, Syracuse is ranked No. 11 in the preseason poll. Four players, Emma Muchnik, Coco Vandiver, Kaci Benoit and Caroline Trinkaus were all named Preseason All-Americans this preseason.Â
SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be the 29th meeting between Syracuse and the Terrapins. Syracuse has won three of the last four meetings.
SCOUTING THE TERRAPINS
The Terrapins are ranked No. 7 in the preseason KANE Women's Lacrosse Division I preseason poll.
The team finished 15-7 last season. Maryland returns four of its five top leading scorers from last season with Kori Edmonson leading the team with 59 goals.
