Syracuse women's basketball looks to close out the regular season on a high note Sunday when the Orange host Boston College at 2 p.m. at the JMA Wireless Dome on ACCNX, with plenty of reasons to make it a memorable afternoon in Syracuse.
Tickets are on sale now at cuse.com/basketballtickets. Fans unable to attend, can watch live on ACCNX with Kyra Wood '25 and Sean Dorcellus on the call.Â
The Orange enter the regular season finale at 21-7 overall and 11-6 in the ACC after dropping a 72-62 decision at Notre Dame on Thursday. Syracuse trailed by a single point entering the fourth quarter before the Irish pulled away late, with Laila Phelia leading the way with 23 points and Uche Izoje recording her 12th double-double of the season. Despite the back-to-back losses to close the regular season, the Orange remain projected as a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament and hold the fifth spot in the ACC standings — a remarkable turnaround for a team picked to finish 13th in the preseason.
Sunday's opponent has struggled mightily, as Boston College arrives at 5-25 overall and 1-16 in conference play. Syracuse owns a commanding lead in the all-time series at 41-28 and already handled the Eagles by 34Â points in the first meeting this season, a 93-59 road win on Feb. 5. A victory Sunday would push the Orange's all-time mark to 42-28 against BC while also doubling their ACC win total from a season ago.
The game carries extra weight beyond the standings, as Sunday will serve as both an alumni celebration and Senior Day. Syracuse will honor the 10-year anniversary of the program's historic 2015-16 Final Four team — the only squad in program history to reach the NCAA Championship game — with members of that legendary group returning to the Dome for the occasion. Following the final buzzer, the Orange will recognize four seniors in Oyindamola Akinbolawa, Laila Phelia, Dominique Darius, and Journey Thompson in a postgame ceremony.
