Dominique Darius snuck a bounce pass in the paint to Potts, who did the same to find Izoje to finish the drive with a layup. Syracuse's defense kept Boston College without a field goal for four minutes and 38 seconds as Izoje collected two blocks in the quarter and Laila Phelia tallied a steal. Potts found Journey Thompson in the paint to add two more points to the board to give 'Cuse a 41-30 advantage entering the locker room.Â
In the opening drive of the second half, Darius knocked in her first shot from beyond the arc of the day. Phelia and Izoje blocked back-to-back shot attempts by Boston College, as Darius followed up with a steal in the Eagles' next possession. Shy Hawkins drew a technical foul on Boston College's Lily Carmody sending the Orange to the line for two shots. Phelia knocked in a three-pointer to the score as Izoje and Thompson followed with field goals to give the Orange a 20-point lead late in the third quarter. Potts hit a corner three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Orange a 70-48 lead heading into the final quarter of play. Â
Olivia Schmitt found Justus Fitzgerald under the basket to put up her first field goal of the game. At the halfway point of the fourth quarter, seniors Oyindamola Akinbolawa, Darius, Phelia and Thompson entered the game. Akinbolawa recorded a field goal, after Schmitt found the center in the paint.
