Brown Named National Coach of the Week

Syracuse football head coach continues to transform the Orange back into a nationally prominent program as shown again last weekend with a signature road win at Clemson.
For his and the team's success, Brown has been named the Paul "Bear" Bryant National Coach of the Week. Brown was also named the Bear Bryant Newcomer Coach of the Year after last season's 10-3 mark.
Through 17 games in his 'Cuse tenure, Brown holds a 13-4 record, tied for the second-most wins through 17 games among the 31 head coaches that have led Syracuse football. Paul Pasqualoni (14-3) is the only coach to have more victories through their first-17 games at Syracuse during the 1991-92 seasons. Aside from Pasqualoni and Brown, you must go back 99 years before you'll find another coach with 13 victories through 17 games. C.W.P. Reynolds (1925-26) and Edwin Sweetland (1901-02) both went 13-3-1 during their first 17 games and are the only prior two to match Brown.
Syracuse returns home on Saturday to host Duke at Noon. Tickets for the Duke game are sold out, fans are encouraged to utilize Ticketmaster Verified Resale for secondary market options. Orange Nation should also act now to secure seats for remaining games in the JMA Wireless Dome this season at Cuse.com/FootballTickets.
