OPENING DRIVE
• Syracuse open ACC play Saturday at Clemson, having started the season with three-straight non-league games.
• The game will air on ESPN, with Bob Wischusen (PxP), Louis Riddick (analyst) and Kris Budden (reporter) on the call.Â
• Saturday's game is the Orange's first true road contest of the season after they opened the season with a neutral site game in Atlanta. Syracuse will play two of its next three games away from the JMA Wireless Dome.
ORANGE IN ACC OPENERS
• The Orange will open conference play on the road for the first time since 2021 (at Florida State) and just the fourth time since joining the ACC in 2013.
• Syracuse has won two of its last three conference starters (2022 vs. Louisville, 2024 vs. Georgia Tech), with the one loss in that span coming at the hands of Clemson in 2023.Â

• QB Steve Angeli is the nation's leading passer after back-to-back 380+ yard performances.
• After recording a career-high 416 passing yards against UConn, Angeli posted 382 passing yards against Colgate. He now tops the FBS with 1,072 passing yards through three games.
• He also ranks first nationally in passing yards per game (357.3), 14th in passing touchdowns (8), 15th in points responsible for (56) and 16th in points responsible for per game (18.7).
• Angeli threw five touchdown passes in Syracuse's win against Colgate, which tied the single-game school record. He became the fifth 'Cuse quarterback to accomplish the feat in a game.
• In addition, he is already tied for seventh on the Orange single-season record list for most 300+ yard passing games with two.
• Last season, Kyle McCord led the nation in passing yards and set a single-season school record with 4,779 yards. In his first three games of the 2024 season, McCord passed for 1,074 yards.
YOUTH MOVEMENT
• Syracuse is tied for seventh among FBS schools for the most first-time starters this season with 11 after the Colgate game.
• Navy's 14 first-time starters are the most in the nation.
• Of the 11 first-time starters for the Orange, eight are underclassmen, including two true freshmen in LB Antoine Deslauriers and DB Demetres Samuel Jr.
• Overall, 30 different players have started at least one of the first three games of the year.
• Syracuse has played 21 true freshmen through the first three weeks of the season. That total ranks third nationally behind Tennessee (24) and Georgia (22). Auburn, Ohio State and USC (19 each) are tied for fourth.Â

• The Tigers own a 10-2 advantage in the series.
• The Orange last beat the Tigers in 2017, 27-24 in a thrilling game in the Dome. The squads entered the fourth quarter tied at 24-24. Syracuse gained the lead with 9:41 remaining when kicker Cole Murphy nailed a 30-yard field goal to secure the Orange win.
• Syracuse and Clemson first met in the 1996 Gator Bowl where the Orange posted a 41-0 victory.
