Orange Part of Autumn Invitational In Philadelphia

Syracuse and Drexel will meet as part of the Basketball on Broad:Autumn Invitational on Saturday, November 15, at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The Basketball on Broad:Autumn Invitational will be a college basketball doubleheader that includes LaSalle vs. Penn State. Matchup times will be released in the coming weeks.

"Xfinity Mobile Arena is quickly becoming the local hub for college basketball in the region," said Michael Sulkes, General Manager of Xfinity Mobile Arena. "We're looking forward to hosting four of the best basketball programs in the region and starting a new tradition with this doubleheader.

The Syracuse-Drexel Series:

Syracuse owns a 4-1 advantage in the series with Drexel.
The two programs first squared off in the 1996 NCAA Tournament with Syracuse claiming a 59-68 victory.
The most recent encounter between the Orange and the Dragons was on November 14, 2021 in the JMA Wireless Dome. Syracuse won, 75-60.

Syracuse
The Orange return their top two scorers, senior guard J.J. Starling (17.8 ppg.) and sophomore forward Donnie Freeman (13.4 ppg., 7.9 rpg.), from the 2024-25 squad that was 14-19. Third-year coach Adrian Autry has added six transfers and five freshmen to the Syracuse roster.

Drexel
Drexel was 18-15 overall and 9-9 in the Coastal Athletic Association a season ago. Coach Zach Spiker has led Drexel to five straight winning seasons. He is entering his 10^th season with the program. Junior guard Shane Blakeney (7.5 ppg., 3.6 rpg.) is a top returning player for the Dragons.
