PHILADELPHIA – Week three of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) brought the teams to the Philadelphia suburbs as plenty of fresh faces made their league debuts at Villanova Stadium.
Sam English made his PLL debut for the California Redwoods while Michael Grace suited up for the first time with the New York Atlas. Owen Hiltz was added to the 25-man roster for the Carolina Chaos, who were on a bye week after a double weekend in Charlotte.
Below are Capsules for each Orange-connected PLL personnel from the Philadelphia weekend.
Sam English - California Redwoods
English made his PLL debut on Friday for the night cap. The Redwoods dug out of a five-point hole in the first quarter but the rally came up one short, falling to the Utah Archers 12-11. English took three shots along with 16 touches and connecting on 12 passes. He added two caused turnovers on the defensive end as well.
Carter Rice - California Redwoods
Rice played in his third game of the season, picking up one ground ball with nine touches and nine total passes in the one-goal setback to the Archers.
Michael Grace - New York Atlas
Grace also made his professional debut Saturday afternoon for the Atlas. Coming off a bye week last week, the Atlas stormed out to an 8-1 lead early in the second quarter, but the Whipsnakes stormed past for a 16-12 win.
