
Four Selected in 2025 PLL Collegiate Draft

Two Orange go in Opening Round
BRISTOL, Conn. – Four Syracuse University men's lacrosse players were selected in Tuesday night's Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) Draft, including two in the first round.
Sam English was taken as the third overall pick on the night, with countryman Owen Hiltz joining him five picks later. Michael Grace was selected in the third round while Carter Rice rounded out a strong draft class for the Orange.
English, who graduated from Princeton University before transferring to Syracuse, was picked up by the California Redwoods as the third overall pick. Carter Rice was also drafted by the Redwoods as the 29th overall pick on the night. The pair will join former Orange Cole Kirst and Alex Simmons on the California Redwoods.
Hiltz was picked eighth overall and will team up with the Carolina Chaos where former Syracuse four-time All-American Roy Colsey.
Grace, a USILA William C. Stiles Memorial Outstanding Defenseman Award winner while playing for Rochester Institute of Technology and a two-time NCAA Division III National Champion at RIT, will head for the New York Atlas, teaming up with another former Syracuse standouts in Jake Stevens and the recently acquired Will Mark.
The 2025 Premier Lacrosse League begins on Friday May 30 as several Syracuse players will square off in the first game of the year with the Carolina Chaos taking on the New York Atlas in the shadows of the state capitol building in Albany. Game time is set for 6 p.m. at Casey Stadium on the campus of the University at Albany. Game time that night pits the California Redwoods against the Denver Outlaws.
These four still have action left for the Orange before beginning their pro careers. Syracuse opens the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Tournament on Sunday with a 5 p.m. rematch against Harvard. Tickets for the final game of the year at the JMA Wireless Dome are on sale at Cuse.com/tickets as are parking passes at a $20 rate with pre-purchase and $25 on the day of the game.
