
Syracuse Draws Rematch with Maryland in Semifinals

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Back to Championship Weekend for the first time since 2013, Syracuse University men's lacrosse draws second-seeded Maryland for Saturday's NCAA Division I Semifinal round.
Sixth-ranked Syracuse (13-5) will face No. 3 Maryland (13-3) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, site of Syracuse's last NCAA Division I Championship. Tickets are available through the NCAA.
Cardiac 'Cuse got back to Championship Weekend after out-lasting No. 4 and national third-seeded Princeton in an instant classic, taking down the Tigers 19-18 at James M. Shuart Stadium on Saturday.
The 2025 ACC Men's Lacrosse Champion Orange are riding a four-game winning streak that began in the ACC Tournament semifinals at the start of the month. Syracuse is battle tested in the month of May, winning three-straight one-goal games, including a 13-12 overtime win over No. 12 Harvard in the opening game of the Tournament.
Maryland reaches Championship Weekend for a second-straight season and the 11th time under head coach John Tillman. Runners-up in the Big Ten Tournament, Maryland knocked off local rival Georgetown 9-6 on Sunday. Saturday's game will be another rematch game for the Orange, their fourth of the postseason. Syracuse and Maryland met in College Park on Feb. 15 where the Terrapins won 11-7.
Syracuse is 3-0 in rematch games this postseason, taking down top-seeded Notre Dame 14-12 in the ACC Semifinal before dispatching third-seeded Duke 9-8 in the Championship game. Syracuse put together an all-time comeback victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, beating Harvard 13-12 in overtime to avenge a 15-14 loss in the JMA Wireless Dome in late February.
