The Orange are three games back of 12th-place Pittsburgh, which currently holds the final spot in the ACC Tournament field with six conference wins. Boston College sits just ahead of Syracuse in 13th place, with five ACC victories entering the weekend.
The last time the Orange took the field, they swept a doubleheader at UAlbany in their final nonconference games of the season, winning 6-0 and 6-2. Madelyn Lopez recorded a career-high four hits to lead Syracuse to a shutout victory in the opener. In game two, Vanessa Flores got the Orange started with a two-run home run, setting the tone for a 6-2 win and the sweep.
