SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No.6-seed Orange men's soccer team is prepped to challenge No.3- seed NC State on the pitch on Sunday, Nov. 9. The match will be held at Dail Soccer Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. ET.

'Cuse Update
No.6-seed Syracuse defeated No.11-seed Virginia Tech in the First Round of the ACC Championship 2-1 on Wednesday Nov. 5.
Graduate student Tim Brdaric recorded a brace against the Hokies, scoring in the 23rd and 57th minutes to send the Orange to the Quarterfinal Round of the ACC Championship. Graduate student goalkeeper Tomas Hut collected six saves against Virginia Tech. He now has 60 saves this season.
The Orange now hold a 5-3-2 record at home and an 8-6-3 (4-3-1) record overall and have the sixth seed in the conference.
Scouting the Wolfpack
No.3-seed NC State (12-1-4, 4-1-3) prevailed in the First Round of the ACC Championship, defeating No.14-seed Louisville 3-0.
Drew Lovelace put NC State up on the board first against the Cardinals, scoring in the 22nd minute. Carlos Santamaria followed with an unassisted goal in the 40th minute to close out the half. Thomas Lamaille topped it off by adding a goal of his own in the 86th minute. Wolfpack goalkeeper Logan Erb has only allowed four goals through 17 games, one of those being a Syracuse goal. The senior has tallied 35 saves and 10 solo shutouts this season.
Donovan Phillip, a forward, leads NC State offensively with 31 points this season. The junior has 15 goals and one assist. His most recent goal was against Notre Dame on Oct. 17.
NC State has remained ranked in the United Soccer Coaches Poll throughout the entire season. The Wolfpack have reached as high as the first spot, but currently stand at No.5 in the 11th week. The Wolfpack were projected to finish in eighth place in the conference according to the ACC preseason poll. They currently stand in third place with 15 points and a 4-1-3 conference record.
In 2024, NC State finished its season with a 10-5-5 record and in ninth place in the ACC with a 3-3-2 record. The Wolfpack took a first-round exit in the 2024 ACC Tournament, falling to Virginia 2-1, but still received a bid to the NCAA tournament. NC State's season ultimately ended in the Sweet Sixteen.

If the Orange defeat the Wolfpack on Sunday evening, Syracuse will move on to the Semifinal Round of the ACC Championship and will face the winner of the No.2-seed Stanford and No.7-seed SMU match on Thursday, Nov. 13. The Semifinal and Final rounds of the ACC Championship will be held at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
