DESLAURIERS LEADING THE CHARGE
• LB Antoine Deslauriers is Syracuse's leading tackler this season with 50.
• That total ranks first in the nation among true freshmen.
• Deslauriers is on pace to become the first true freshman to lead the Orange in tackles since 1979 when defensive statistics are available.
• Deslauriers has recorded five or more tackles in seven of nine games this season, including a season-high 10 against Pittsburgh.
• Additionally, Deslauriers has two forced fumbles, which also leads the Orange, to go along with two pass breakups.
FIRST-TIME STARTERS
• Syracuse ranks tied for third in the nation and first among ACC schools with 19 players who have made their first career starts this season.Â
• QB Joseph Filardi and OL Byron Washington joined the group when they made their first career starts against North Carolina.
• Overall, 41 different players have started at least one game for the Orange in 2025, while  94 players have seen action in at least one game.
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday's matchup is the 25th meeting between Syracuse and Miami. The Hurricanes own a 16-8 advantage in the all-time series.Â
• Syracuse has faced Miami just twice since joining the ACC (2017, 2024). The schools met every year from 1992-2003 when both were members of The BIG EAST Conference.Â
• For the seventh-straight meeting, the Orange will face a nationally-ranked Miami squad.Â
A WIN WOULD …Â
• Give the Orange their first win against a ranked opponent this season.
• Improve head coach Fran Brown's record to 5-3 vs. ranked opponents.
• Give Syracuse its 768th all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 21st on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 37 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
