Sophomore Ciara Alarcon leads the squad with three goals and four assists on the year. She has appeared in all 13 games, and most recently played all 90 minutes in the Hurricanes loss to the Seminoles. Graduate student Bree Severns is right behind Alarcon with three goals and one assist.Â
Senior goalkeeper Emily Bredek has started in 12 of the the Hurricanes 13 matches. She has a goals against average of 1.50 and save percentage of .735. Junior Atlee Olofson (0.84 gaa., .821 save percentage) has also played in 12 contests.
Around the ACC
Twelve ACC teams were in action on Thursday night. The most noteworthy of the results was #2 Notre Dame rallying from a 2-0 deficit to defeat #5 Florida State, 4-2. The Irish remained undefeated (11-0-1) with the victory. Cal played #1 Virginia to a 2-2 draw in Berkeley, while Louisville earned a 1-1 tie at #13 Wake Forest.
#5 Stanford defeated Virginia Tech, 5-0, NC State picked up a road win at Boston College, 1-0, and Clemson won at SMU, 3-2.
