SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Graduate student Jessie DiPasquale allowed one hit as Syracuse beat Cornell, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon at Skytop Stadium.
Â
The Orange have won 13 of the last 14 contests against the Big Red, including four consecutive shutouts.
Â
Sophomore Madison Knight launched her fifth home run in eight games in the victory.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED AGAINST CORNELL:Â
Sophomore Vanessa Flores put the Orange on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first, singling home senior Angel Jasso, who reached base with a single of her own. Syracuse plated a pair of runs in the second off an RBI groundout from sophomore Kate Dorazio followed by a single off the bat of sophomore Madelyn Lopez.
Â
Knight added an insurance marker in the fifth, sending the 1-1 offering from Cornell starter Kyrie Denny over the left field wall.
Â
DiPasquale mowed down the Cornell lineup, allowing the visitor's lone hit to come in the fourth, a one-out triple by Lauren Holt. The hurler escaped any damage when Maddie Ullensvang flied into an inning-ending double play to Lopez, who threw out Holt attempting to score.

UP NEXT:Â
