#21 Syracuse (17-4, 7-3 ACC) travels to Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Sunday to face Boston College (11-12, 3-7 ACC) for the second time this season. The Orange defeated the Eagles, 71-64, on Jan. 7 at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse. Syracuse is looking to snap its first losing streak of the season (2 games) while BC looks to snap a four-game slide.
Syracuse is coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in over a calendar year. The Orange began the ACC season 7-1, the best conference start in program history, but came up short against #19 Virginia Tech last Sunday, 75-62, and lost by 12, 81-69, at #16 Louisville on Thursday. Dyaisha Fair scored 28 points in the loss to the Cardinals moving to sixth all-time in NCAA Division I women's basketball scoring with 3,129 career points.
Fair is averaging 20.9 points per game while Georgia Woolley (13.7 ppg) and Alaina Rice (11.8 ppg) are also scoring double figures. Syracuse's starting frontcourt of Kyra Wood (7.7 rpg) and Alyssa Latham (7.3 ppg) rank sixth and seventh in the ACC, respectively, in rebounds per game making Syracuse the only school in the league with two players in the top-10 of rebounding.
Boston College is led by Andrea Daley who averages 14.8 ppg in 23 games played. She ranks 11th in the ACC in scoring and fifth field goal percentage with a .529 clip. Teya Sidberry and Dontavia Waggoner also rank in the top-25 of scoring in the ACC with 13.5 ppg and 12.3 ppg, respectively.
Syracuse is 38-26 all-time against the Eagles and has won three-straight in the series.
