Volleyball Signs Two For 2025

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University volleyball team has announced the signing of Marie Laurio and Elizabeth Turner to its 2025 recruiting class.
Laurio, an outside hitter from Ann Arbor, Michigan, played four years at Saline High School and helped the Hornets to a 21-11 record this season. Laurio finished her Saline career with 1,426 kills, 1,171 digs, 451 blocks and 145 aces. She was a team captain in each of her final two years with the Hornets and racked up several honors in her time with the team, including All-Conference First Team (2021-24), All-Region First Team (2022-24), All-State First Team (2024) and Saline's Most Valuable Player (2023 & 2024).
In addition to her high school career, Laurio played with Legacy Volleyball Club in Michigan for five years. She is the daughter of Bethany and Paul Laurio and has a brother, Roman.
Turner is also an outside hitter and played at Seiwa Joshi Gakuin, a high school in Nagasaki, Japan. In 2022, she earned DoDEA's Best Hitter and Most Valuable Player awards. Turner also played for the Kizakino Sho Club in Japan for four years. She is the daughter of Dawn and Thomas Johnson.
