ORANGE RETURN TO ACC PLAY AT NC STATE
• Syracuse begins a stretch of five-straight games against ACC foes when it takes on NC State on Saturday.
• The game will air on ACC Network, with Wes Durham (PxP) and Tom Luginbill (analyst) and Dana Boyle (sideline) on the call.
MCCORD RISING
• QB Kyle McCord is already putting his name in the Syracuse record book five games into his 'Cuse career.
• He recorded a career-high 385 yards passing against Holy Cross to become the first Orange quarterback to throw for 300 yards in four-straight games. He extended the streak to five with 355 yards at UNLV.
• McCord ranks second in the nation in passing yards per game, averaging 362.8 per contest. In addition, he leads the nation in completions per game (30.8).
• McCord is already the fourth 'Cuse quarterback to record five or more 300-yard passing performances in his career. Eric Dungey holds the school career record for 300-yard passing games (12), while Ryan Nassib holds the single-season record (six in 2012).
• McCord's 1,814 yards passing is the highest total for a 'Cuse quarterback through the first five games of a season in program history.
GADSDEN REWRITES RECORD BOOK
• TE Oronde Gadsden II enjoyed a career day in Syracuse's win at UNLV and in doing so, set two Syracuse school records.
• Gadsden recorded career highs in receptions (10) and receiving yards (142) in the victory against the Rebels.
• With the performance, Gadsden became Syracuse's all-time leader for most receptions (94) and receiving yards (1,395) by a tight end. He moved to the position for the 2022 season.
• Gadsden's 142 receiving yards against UNLV are the seventh-highest total for an ACC player this season.
ON THE ROAD AGAIN
• Saturday's game is the second of three-straight road contests for the Orange. Syracuse is in a 35-day stretch without a game played in the JMA Dome.
• It marks the second-straight year that Syracuse will not play a home game in October and go 30+ days between home games.
• Prior to the 2023 season, the last time the Orange did not have a home game in the month of October was in 2008 when two byes and two road games accounted for the stretch.
SERIES HISTORY
• Saturday's game will be the 17th all-time meeting between Syracuse and NC State. Ten of the contests have come since the Orange joined the ACC in 2013.
• The Wolfpack leads the all-time series, 13-3.
• The series dates back to a 43-20 Wolfpack win in 1972. The teams played four times in the 1970s, twice at each campus, before resuming the series with home-and-home dates in 1997 and 1998. The squads played annually from 2013-22 when both were members of the ACC Atlantic Division.
