#21 Orange Travel to #16 Louisville on Thursday

The 21st-ranked Syracuse women's basketball team (17-3) is headed to Louisville, Ky., to take on the #16 Cardinals at the KFC Yum! Center on Thursday night. Fans can watch the game live on ACCNX at 7 p.m. online or through the ESPN app.Â
The Orange are in search of their first win at Louisville since Jan. 23, 2010 and in hopes of snapping a seven-game losing streak against the Cardinals. Syracuse is 7-19 all-time against Louisville and 1-9 in the last 10 games. Last time Syracuse beat Louisville, the then-#5 Cardinals were beat by an unranked SU team at the JMA Wireless Dome on Feb. 9, 2020, 59-51. It tied the biggest margin of victory over a top-5 opponent in program history. The last time a ranked SU team defeated a ranked Louisville team was in the 2016 ACC Tournament semifinals when SU defeated #7 Louisville to advance to the program's first ACC title game.Â
Syracuse is 7-2 this season in the ACC and is currently in a three-way tie in the league standings. Louisville sits alone at the top of the ACC with a 7-1 record and is 18-3 overall.
The Cardinals are 11-0 at home and have won back-to-back games against Boston College (88-60) and Pittsburgh (77-58) at the Yum! Center. UofL will face a nationally-ranked opponent in each of its next four games including a return trip to Syracuse against the Orange on Sunday, Feb. 11 for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Kiki Jefferson leads Louisville in scoring with 12.9 ppg while Olivia Cochran adds 11.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. The Cardinals average 75.9 ppg on offense and are holding opponents to 59.4 ppg.Â
Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday with Jeff Greer and Jessica Laemmle-McDaniel.Â
Following Thursday's game, the Orange travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass., for a noon tip-off against Boston College on Sunday, Feb. 4 at Conte Forum.Â
