1/23/2024 12:30:00 PM | Volleyball
A new playing surface and new bleacher seating in the Syracuse University women's volleyball home venue are the most recent improvements for the Orange. The Women's Building gym features a new Taraflex playing surface and new bleacher seating on both sides of the court.
Â
"The upgrades in our volleyball facility will provide for a better student-athlete and fan experience," said Director of Athletics John Wildhack. "The new state of the art playing surface is the equivalent of any in the country and having the court surrounded by bleachers will improve an already fantastic home court advantage for our team."
Â
Taraflex is globally renowned in the volleyball community. Gerflor, the provider of the Taraflex playing surface, has installed the flooring in more than 75 NCAA Division I facilities, including Atlantic Coast Conference members Louisville, Florida State, Pitt, Notre Dame, Clemson, Miami, NC State, Boston College, Georgia Tech and Syracuse.
Â
"We are excited and thankful for the renovations to our home facility," said head coach Bakeer Ganesharatman. "The new Taraflex court and bleachers will benefit our student-athletes in a very direct way. We are grateful for the leadership and expertise from John Wildhack, Kirsten Elleby, Herman Frazier and Morey Mossovitz to complete this project. There are additional projects in discussion to further enhance the student-athlete experience that we look forward to making progress toward in the future."
