GAME INFO
- Syracuse looks to tie the best 10-game start to a season since 1990 at 9-1 with a win over Cornell.
- The game will be broadcast on Spectrum Sports with Mark Larson and Dale Drypolcher on the call. Brian Higgins and Kyle Fetterly will call the game on TK99/105 and Cuse.TV, with WAER also broadcasting the action.
THE CORNELL SERIES
- This will be the 102nd meeting between the two programs, with Syracuse controlling a 64-36-1 record all-time against Cornell.
- The first meeting between the two sides came on May 21, 1920, as Syracuse defeated Cornell 5-3 in overtime.
- Twice, the Orange has defeated the Big Red in the national title game to hoist the NCAA Championship Trophy. A 13-8 victory over Cornell in 1988 gave Syracuse its second national title in program history. In 2009, Syracuse won 10-9 in overtime against Cornell for its 11th championship, the team's most recent.
- The Orange has won three of its last four against the Big Red, despite dropping last season's matchup 10-9 in overtime. Head coach John Desko is 12-7 against Cornell (since 1999).
- In last season's matchup between SU and Cornell, the Orange held a 7-5 lead midway through the third period before conceding four of the last six goals in regulation, and the game-winner in overtime. Nick Mariano led the way in the loss, scoring four goals, while Ben Williams won 18-of-22 faceoffs at the X.
CARDIAC 'CUSE
- Prior to the six-goal victory against Hobart, Syracuse played in seven-straight one goal games, the longest streak in the 101-year history of the program.
- 'Cuse has recorded four-or-more straight one-goal games in 2017, 2013, 2008, 2002 and 1919. Prior to this season, the last-three times Syracuse has recorded four-or-more one goal games, they played for a National Championship  in that season. In total, the program record for one-goal games happened in 2013, when the team tallied 10. The seven one-goal decisions this season sit alone for the second most all-time at SU.
ORANGE LEAD THE NATION IN ONE-GOAL GAMES
- Syracuse leads the country with seven one-goal games and sports a 6-1 record in such contests. The only other team with that many games decided by one goal is Virginia, who is 4-3 in such matchups, including a loss to the Orange.
- As of April 2, 73 Division I games have been decided by one goal. Syracuse (6-1), Johns Hopkins (2-1), Towson (2-1), Air Force (2-1), and Marquette (2-1) are the only teams with only one loss that have played at least three such contests.
AGAINST THE IVY LEAGUE
- Against the seven current members of the Ivy League lacrosse conference, Syracuse owns a 182-55-1 record all-time, including winning records against each team.
- In addition to Cornell, 'Cuse has faced Penn (25-1), Princeton (20-9), Yale (19-4), Dartmouth (19-4), Harvard (18-0) and Brown (17-1).
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
- Syracuse is 5-1 in the non-conference slate so far this season and finished 8-3 last season against out-of-conference foes in 2016.
- Since joining the ACC, the Orange is 30-6 versus non-conference opponents, including a 28-3 mark in regular-season, non-league contests.
A WIN AGAINST CORNELL WOULD …
… Be the program's 891st victory, second all-time behind Johns Hopkins.
… Improve SU's record to 45-14 since the start of the 2014 season.
… Give John Desko his 232nd career coaching win, sixth among active Division I coaches.
… Extend Syracuse's current winning streak to seven straight.

DESKO CLOSING IN ON 500 SU WINS
