SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse men's soccer team (3-2-0) continues its four-game homestand when it hosts former BIG EAST rival and current American Athletic Conference foe No. 3 Connecticut (2-1-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Huskies are the second straight top-five team to visit Syracuse after the Orange hosted No. 4 Notre Dame on Friday, Sept. 13.

LAST TIME OUT
Syracuse lost to the Irish, 3-0, on Friday in the first ACC home event for any sport. The Orange was held scoreless in their second conference game of the season, and Notre Dame scored two goals in the first half and one early in the second to secure the victory.

Sophomore Alex Bono tied his season high with seven saves, one shy of his personal best. Bono is now three saves shy of 100 on his career.

NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
Syracuse is 11-2-0 the past two seasons against non-conference opponents. SU has outscored its non-league foes by the count of 33-6 and recorded nine shutouts in that stretch.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
The third-ranked Huskies are 2-1-1 this season. UConn has defeated St. Francis and Boston University, tied Washington, but suffered its first loss of the year to Bradley over the weekend.

Cyle Larin and Edir DaGraca lead UConn in goals with one goal each, while Mamadou Doudou Diouf leads the team in shots (18). Andre Blake has started all four games in goal and has four saves on the year.

Head coach Ray Reid is in his 17th year at the helm of the UConn men's soccer program. He boasts a 383-95-55 career record in his 25 years as a collegiate head coach, including a 237-78-40 record with the Huskies. Reid entered the 2013 campaign highest winning percentage among active coaches in Division I soccer at .772.

SERIES HISTORY
The Orange owns a 7-5-1 advantage against the Huskies in games played in Syracuse. SU was 4-0-2 in home games versus Connecticut from 1982-92.

One of the biggest wins in school history came on Oct. 14, 2000 when Syracuse traveled to Storrs and upset the top-ranked Huskies on the road, 1-0.
