Ri'Shard Anderson scooped up the fumble and returned it 66-yards for the game's first touchdown. Anderson's fumble return for a touchdown was the first for Syracuse since 2006 (Jerry Mackey vs. Illinois).
Overall, Anderson's scoop-and-score was the second defensive or special teams touchdown for Syracuse under Marrone. In 2010, Mike Holmes returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown at Akron.
