LOUISVILLE, KY – Junior Perry Patterson recorded a career-high 259 passing yards, connecting on 19-of-39 attempts, as the Orange lost to #17/18 Louisville today, 41-17, at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. Sophomore Rice Moss established new career highs with six catches and 116 yards.
Redshirt freshman Paul Chiara was SU’s leading rusher on the day with 39 yards on eight carries. He also caught four passes for 34 yards. Nick Chestnut caught his third touchdown of the year and totaled 44 yards receiving.
Junior Brendan Carney punted nine times in the game and in the process established an SU standard for single-season kicks with 84. He passed Mike Shafer, who had 77 in 2001. Carney also took over the top spot in single-season punting yards with 3,491. He surpassed Shafer, who had 3,282 in 2001.
