A veteran spirt and cheer coach, Dena Segbers is the spirit program coordinator and head cheer coach at Syracuse University. She took over the Orange program in 2003 and has been a coach for more than 30 years.
In 2015-16, she led the Orange to their best season in program history, leading the squad to an 11th overall finish at the UCA Nationals in the Division I - Small Coed Division. Syracuse made the finals for the first time in program history.
Segbers has also coached at Victor Central School and Canandaigua Senior Academy, winning numerous league and sectional championships, as well as serving on numerous cheer boards and committees.Â
Segbers served as the Western NY Sales Representative for Varsity Spirit Corporation, and prior to that with The National Spirit Group.
Segbers holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
