James Caswell Cheerleading Awards

This fund has been established to honor Caswell’s leadership and dedication to the SU cheerleading program and to acknowledge and promote the important contributions made by cheerleaders to the spirit, pride and positive public image of Syracuse University.
Five Cheerleading Awards
ACADEMIC: A minimum of 3.0 GPA for the previous four semesters.
ATHLETIC: Eligible applicants will be a current member of the Syracuse University cheerleading squad for a minimum of two years. The mascots are considered part of the cheerleading squad. The successful applicants will have demonstrated a dedication to the cheerleading squad by attendance at practices and events.
SERVICE: A history of campus involvement through acts of assistance or benefit to others. Involvement in community service projects either through campus service or volunteer service to organizations outside the university.
LEADERSHIP: A history of positively influencing their peers personally, academically and athletically. This history can be established through positions held, successes achieved, and/or actions on or off the playing field. Of significant note would be a history of standing up and being counted. The successful applicants may demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship.
The nomination forms will be given out by the Spirit Coordinator/Head Cheer Coach.
