Pittsburgh Student-Athlete Quotes
Tino Sunseri, Quarterback, Redshirt Senior
On the corner blitz in the 2nd down in the last series:
“We have to be able to pick that up as well. It’s something you have to be able to recognize. It’s my job to right the ship on that and I’ll be able to do that next time.”
On Syracuse taking away the running game:
“I don’t know, you don’t know until you go in and watch the tape. I feel like we were able to move the ball inside their 30 and you need to be able to come away with the points, I know that. When you’re inside the 15 and ten yard lines you have to score points, and they were able to stop us. You have to give credit to Syracuse’s defense on not putting down whenever we got close. We have to be able to make those corrections on the tape.”
Devin Street, Wide Receiver, Redshirt Junior
On being down by two touchdowns:
“We have to play together. We shot ourselves in the foot. We’re our own worst enemy right now.”
On the penalties and sacks in the last couple of plays:
“It’s once again shooting ourselves in the foot, jumping off sides. They called a great corner blitz, it was a great play by them but we had other opportunities to win that game.”
On Syracuse’s passing game:
“I think we did a good job, not a great job. We didn’t get the job done. It doesn’t matter about my personal stats. I’d rather have two catches and win the game.
On being involved in the Offense against Syracuse:
“I think I am getting a little more comfortable and the coaches trust me more too. I think we have to get a whole team effort. I think it’s there and we have the talent, we just have to put the pieces together.
On what Tino has been doing to take it to the next level:
“He’s confident, he’s a leader and you can just see it in him. The linemen have to help him and we could run the ball a little more. I just think there weren’t enough opportunities on the field.”
