Anderson Earns ACC Weekly Honors

After a runner-up finish for the No. 9 Syracuse men's cross country team at the Princeton Meadows Challenge, Benne Anderson has been named ACC Performer of the Week.
Anderson was third at the meet, leading 'Cuse to finish behind only No. 4 Alabama, but ahead of the rest of the field that featured a host of teams represented in the national poll. Anderson finished the 8k course in 23:11.2.
Syracuse has earned ACC Performer of the Week accolades after each of its first-three meets to open the season – each by a different runner. Charles Guerrera and Connell Alford previously earned the award through the first two weeks. The SU women, who are receiving votes in the national poll, have also earned the honor as Keira Rogan was named ACC Performer of the Week following her race at the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational.
The success continues a strong start to the fall seasons for Syracuse, which two top-10 teams (men's cross country and field hockey) and a top-20 men's soccer program.
Syracuse will return to action Oct. 16, competing at both the NCAA Pre-Nationals and the Princeton Invitational.
