Syracuse and Rutgers To Meet At Barclays Center

Former BIG EAST Conference rivals Syracuse and Rutgers are scheduled to meet Saturday, Feb. 6, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The game will represent the latest non-conference contest on a Syracuse regular-season schedule since the Orange hosted UCLA on Feb. 13, 2000.
The Syracuse-Rutgers Series:
Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his initial year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
The Orange have two returning regulars, sophomores Kiyan Anthony (8.0 ppg., 1.4 rpg.) and Sadiq White Jr. (6.1 ppg., 3.3 rpg.). A group of six incoming transfers includes Temple guard Aiden Tobiason (15.3 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), a junior, and guard Gavin Doty (18.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg.), a junior and 2025-26 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) First Team honoree at Siena.
Rutgers
The Scarlet Knights finished 14-20 overall and 6-14 in the Big Ten in 2025-26. Steve Pikiell has guided Rutgers to a 161-160 record in his 10 seasons as head coach.
Senior guard Tariq Francis (17.0 ppg., 2.9 apg.) and fifth-year guard Darren Buchanan Jr. (8.1 ppg., 3.9 rpg.) are two top returning players for Rutgers. Junior guard Darin Smith Jr. (20.7 ppg., 5.4 rpg.) joined the Rutgers roster after earning 2025-26 Northeast Conference Player of the Year honors at Central Connecticut State. Another impressive addition was junior forward Will Sydnor (13.9 ppg., 6.8 rpg.), the 2025-26 MAAC Rookie of the Year.
