Syracuse and Albany Set Nov. 25 Hoop Contest

Syracuse has scheduled Albany for a men's basketball contest on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at the JMA Wireless Dome.
The Syracuse-Albany Series:Â
     Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his initial year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
     The Orange have two returning regulars, sophomores Kiyan Anthony (8.0 ppg., 1.4 rpg.) and Sadiq White Jr. (6.1 ppg., 3.3 rpg.). A group of six incoming transfers includes Temple guard Aiden Tobiason (15.3 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), a junior, and guard Gavin Doty (18.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg.), a junior and 2025-26 MAAC First Team honoree at Siena.
Albany
     The Great Danes were 11-21 overall and 7-9 in the America East Conference in 2025-26. Dwayne Killings is in his sixth season in charge of the Albany program.
     Top returning players for Albany include redshirt junior guard Zacharie Matulu (9.9 ppg., 5.7 rpg.) and senior guard Abdoulaye Fall (9.6 ppg., 3.3 rpg.), who missed most of last year with injuries. The Great Dane coaching staff has brought in six freshmen, including forward Uo-Mier Graham, who is from Albany.

- The two programs first squared off on Feb. 20, 1919, in a game won by Syracuse, 29-17.
