Orange and Big Red To Battle Again

Syracuse will renew one of the oldest rivalries in program history when it hosts Cornell on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the JMA Wireless Dome.
The Syracuse-Cornell Series:
     Former Syracuse standout Gerry McNamara enters his initial year at the helm of his alma mater. McNamara spent the last two seasons in charge at Siena, where he led the Saints to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
     The Orange have two returning regulars, sophomores Kiyan Anthony (8.0 ppg., 1.4 rpg.) and Sadiq White Jr. (6.1 ppg., 3.3 rpg.). A group of six incoming transfers includes Temple guard Aiden Tobiason (15.3 ppg., 3.7 rpg.), a junior, and guard Gavin Doty (18.0 ppg., 6.9 rpg.), a junior and 2025-26 MAAC First Team honoree at Siena.
Cornell
     The Big Red finished 15-13 overall and 8-6 in the Ivy League in 2025-26. Cornell lost in the semifinals of the Ivy League Tournament to Yale. Jon Jaques had quided the Big Red to a 33-24 record in his two seasons as head coach. Jacques was a senior starter and captain on the 2010 Cornell quad that reached the NCAA Sweet 16.
     Cornell has 10 returning players on its roster, including senior guard Jacob Beccles (7.7 ppg., 2.5 rpg.) and senior forward Sepp Kaspar (4.8 ppg., 5.5 rpg.).
