
Ten Earn AHCA All-American Scholars

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – Ten Syracuse University women's ice hockey student-athletes earned academic recognition as the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) announced its 10th Annual AHCA All-American Scholars for Division I.
Freshmen Emma Gnade (Forward) and Rachel Walsh (Defense), sophomores Peyton Armstrong (Forward) and Jessica Cheung (Defense), juniors Nea Tervonen (Forward) and Mik Todd (Forward), with seniors Maya D'Arcy (Defense), Charlotte Hallett (Defense) Heidi Knoll (Forward) and Maïka Paquin (Goalie) were all named to the All-American Scholars list this year.
Syracuse was among the leaders in its conference, the AHA (Atlantic Hockey America) with 10 honorees. Only Mercyhurst (13) and Robert Morris (11) had more than Syracuse.
Per the AHCA: To qualify a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40% of the team's games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.
