Syracuse to Celebrate 5 LetterWinners of Distinction During Block S Club Weekend

Syracuse University Athletics will celebrate five LetterWinners of Distinction on Sept. 4 at the 61st annual LetterWinner of Distinction event, a headlining event of Block S Club Weekend in Syracuse.
Leonard "Len" Campolieta '72 (football), Erin Gallagher '02 (rowing), Mike Leveille '08 (men's lacrosse), Joe Paduda '80 (rowing) and Michelle Tumolo '13 (women's lacrosse) will be celebrated as LetterWinners of Distinction, which is one of the highest honors that Syracuse Athletics bestows upon its former student-athletes.
Block S Club Weekend will take place from Thursday, Sept. 3 through Saturday, Sept. 5. Registration is now open for Block S Club Weekend at Cuse.com/BlockSClubWeekend.
Besides LetterWinner of Distinction event, which is open to the public, Block S Club Weekend will have a number of events which are exclusive to former Syracuse varsity student-athletes, student managers and Ottos. The weekend includes two complimentary tickets to Syracuse football's season opener and a pre-game meetup in Club 44 on Saturday. Friday will feature a facility tour of the John A. Lally Athletics Complex and pre-game gathering inside the Hergenhan One Team Lounge before the men's soccer game vs. Clemson. There will also be an Alumni Athlete Panel on Thursday.
In addition to Friday's dinner, LetterWinners of Distinction will also be recognized during Syracuse football's season opener against New Hampshire, with tickets available at Cuse.com/FootballTickets.
Len Campolieta
Campolieta played defensive tackle and end at Syracuse, earning starting roles in both his junior and senior years. After graduation in 1972, he then went on to play semi-professional football for the North Cumberland Coal Crackers.
After graduating from Syracuse, Campolieta had a 40-year career at O'Brien & Gere, ultimately reaching Senior Vice President and Chief Engineer. After retirement, he started a consulting company – LJC Campolieta Program Management Services – where he has worked as a consultant on major renovation and upgrade projects in the Syracuse area, as well as a Department of Defense project in Hawaii.
Campolieta has also heavily involved in numerous community organizations, such as serving on the board of directors for the Center for Community Alternatives, St. Joseph Catholic Church and New York State Professional Engineering. He also was President of the SU Varsity Club and Syracuse Football Club.
Erin Gallagher
Gallagher was a coxswain at Syracuse from 1998-02. She started on the men's team as a freshman, before spending her final three seasons coxing on the women's team, where she helped the program win multiple BIG EAST titles, including the inaugural championship. She was an Academic All-American, Academic All-BIG EAST and First Team All-American (Mid-Atlantic).
She has stayed actively involved in the rowing community after Syracuse, coaching at both Ruthers and the Mercer Junior Rowing Club. She is also a licensed official through both US Rowing and World Rowing. A board member of the Scholastic Rowing Association since 2012, she also serves on the Syracuse Alumni Rowing Association board as the communications chair.
Following her time as a student-athlete, Gallagher founded Morgan Strategies. She has also been involved in numerous community initiatives such as a volunteer with the Honor Flight Network. Gallagher also holds a PhD from Rutgers.
Mike Leveille
Leveille was a standout for the Syracuse men's lacrosse team winning the NCAA Championship and Tewaaraton Award as a senior in 2008. He started all-59 games of his collegiate career and recorded at least one point in 57-straight games to conclude his time with the Orange – the fourth-longest streak in school history.
He was a four-time USILA All-American, earning honorable mention accolades each of his first-three seasons and first team honors as a senior. At the conclusion of his career, he was 12th in points (215) and ninth in goals (132) for the storied program.
Leveille currently the CFO and COO at Kane Footwear, a recovery footwear brand and founder of Athlete Bridge.
Joe Paduda
Paduda was a three-year letterman for the Syracuse men's rowing team from 1978-80. He has stayed actively involved as a key supporter of the program through the SARA, where he served as secretary from 2003-15 and President from 2016-22, and remains involved to this day.
Paduda leads Health Strategy Associates, a national consulting group exclusively for the healthcare industry. Paduda specializes in workers' compensation and opioid misuse. A national leader in the healthcare landscape, he testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Workforce Protections on the opioid epidemic in 2018. He has also served as an adviser to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the American Insurance Association.
A recipient of the President's Award from the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions, he also previously served as a board member for Boston's Commonwealth Care Alliance and has additional community service initiatives including serving as a host family for the A Better Chance program and worked with the Madison CT Shellfish commission and Windsor County Mentors.
Michelle Tumolo
Tumolo was a star women's lacrosse player at Syracuse that ranked inside the top-10 in program history in goals, assists and points at the conclusion of her career in 2013. A former Tewaaraton Finalist and multi-time All-American, Tumolo went on to play for Team USA and was All-World Team in 2017 after leading the U.S. to gold at the FIL World Cup, in addition to a successful professional career.
Tumolo also spent a year on Gary Gait's staff as an assistant coach in 2016, helping the Orange to Championship Weekend. She's now a successful head coach at Army West Point, where she's won over 70-percent of her games and has led the Black Knights to the NCAA Tournament in three of the last-four seasons, including back-to-back trips in 2025 and 2026.
