
Elif Çayir Joins the Orange

Syracuse women's basketball has added Elif Çayir to its roster for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Çayir is a native of Ankara, Turkey.
Çayir played for Nesibe Aydin in the Halkbank Women's Basketball Super League of Turkey. The 5-foot-10 newcomer appeared in 33 games across four seasons and shot .400 (30-of-75) from the field. She grabbed 44 rebounds and dished out 12 assists during her time with Nesibe Aydin.
Çayır joins Sarah Rambus, Tyi Skinner, Jaleesa Molina and Emely Rodriguez as transfer additions bringing prior experience to the Orange. Syracuse rounds out the incoming class with two freshmen in New York natives Madison Howard and Destiny Robinson.
