Graduate transfer Tyi Skinner will join the Syracuse women's basketball team for the 2026-27 season with one year of eligibility remaining. Skinner arrives in Syracuse with a decorated collegiate career that has taken her from Delaware to Arizona State to SMU, establishing herself as one of the more dynamic scoring guards in the country along the way.
"We are so excited to have Tyi join our Orange family," Syracuse Head Coach Felisha Legette-Jack said. "Her ability to push pace, pass to our bigs, and knock down the three-ball is impressive. She is a tenacious defender, leader, and winner! I love how she can make a friend anywhere she is. You will love her energy and tenacity of purpose. Orange Nation, please help me welcome Tyinhia Skinner to our family."
The Maryland native burst onto the scene at Delaware, earning CAA All-Rookie Team honors as a freshman after averaging 8.8 points per game and being named to the WNIT Charlotte All-Region Team. She elevated her game as a sophomore, leading the Blue Hens in assists, three-pointers made and three-point percentage while averaging 12.8 points per game.
Skinner then took her talents to Arizona State, where she became one of the premier players in the Pac-12. As a junior, she averaged 19.3 points per game — second in the conference and 27th nationally — while earning All-Pac-12 recognition from both coaches and media. After missing the 2023-24 season due to injury, she returned with full force in 2024-25, earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors after averaging 16.8 points, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals in all 32 games for the Sun Devils.
A proven scorer at every level, Skinner has tallied 20 or more points in a game 26 times throughout her career and has shot better than 38% from three-point range in her healthiest seasons. She brings size, experience and a scorer's mentality to a Syracuse program coming off its most successful season of the Legette-Jack era.
