
Men’s Lacrosse Remains in Top 10

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Heading into a blue blood rivalry game this weekend, Syracuse University men's lacrosse remained in the top 10 of the polls this week after splitting at the ACC/Ivy Challenge last weekend.
The Orange (4-2) slid to number 10 in both the USILA Division I Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Division I Media Poll. In the Coaches Poll, the Orange garnered 372 points while picking up 264 points in the Media Poll.
Notre Dame held onto the top spot in the Coaches Poll with 628 points and 26 first-place votes. Richmond was second with 584 points and three top nods. Princeton moved up to third with 562 points and two first-place votes. Duke was fourth with 513 points while Harvard rounded out the top five with 5121 points and the remaining first-place selection.
The Fighting Irish were also first on the Media side with 421 points and eight first-place votes. Richmond moved to second with 411 points and was the top choice on nine ballots. Princeton was third with 404 points and four first-place votes. Harvard had the final first-place vote and 360 total points while North Carolina was fifth with 339 points.
Twelve teams on this year's slate were among those mentioned in the Coaches Poll this week: No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 3 Princeton, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Harvard, No. 6 North Carolina, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Georgetown, No. 14 Maryland, No. 15 Denver, No. 17 Virginia, No. 19 Penn, No. 20 Boston University with Saint Joseph's receiving votes.
An equal number of 2026 foes were mentioned in the Media Poll this week: No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 3 Princeton, No. 4 Harvard, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 8 Duke, No. 11 Johns Hopkins, No. 12 Maryland, No. 13 Georgetown, No. 16 Denver, No. 17 Virginia, No. 18 Penn, No. 20 Saint Joseph's, as Boston University was among those considered.
The sport's winningest teams battle in Baltimore this weekend as No. 10 Syracuse heads for Homewood Field to take on No. 11 Johns Hopkins. Game time is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.
