Syracuse's Matt Park has been named New York Sporstcaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
Park, who has called Syracuse football and basketball games for more than two decades, has been a fixture for the Orange's biggest moments since assuming the role of Voice of the Orange in 2004. In addition to his radio calls, he also hosts the Fran Brown and Adrian Autry radio shows and emcees a multitude of major events, including the annual 'Cuse Awards.
Park, a 1997 graduate of Syracuse, also serves as a professor in the Newhouse School of Public Communications. Earlier this fall, he was presented the Marty Glickman Award for leadership in sports media.
In addition to Park, Syracuse alum Sean McDonough collected National Sportscaster of the Year honors from the organization. Â
