Syracuse (4-4-4, 0-3-1) plays its third top-10 opponent in four games when it takes on #3 Stanford (8-1-1, 2-0-1) on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 4:00 p.m. at Maloney Field at Cagan Stadium. It marks the second match of a two-game, west coast road trip for the Orange.

Syracuse Status
The Orange enter the contest following a narrow, 1-0 defeat, at California on Thursday.Â
Senior Shea Vanderbosch has started all 12 games on the year and owns a goals against average of 1.13 and a save percentage of .812. Vanderbosch has played all 90 minutes of 11 of Syracuse's matches. With six saves in the clash at California, she now stands at 343 career saves, just one off the school record of 344.Â
Syracuse has received solid play from its youthful back line of freshman Bree Bridges, sophomore Natalie Magnotta and sophomore Jasmine Nixon. Each member of the trio has logged 12 starts in their first year with the Orange. Bridges (83.7), Nixon (86.9) and Magnotta (81.8) own the top three spots on the squad, respectively, in minutes-played average.
Senior Mia Klammer tops the Orange with five goals on the season. She also has three assists and 13 points. Graduate student Ashley Rauch has four goals and three assists. Freshman Julia Arbelaez has added three assists.Â
Stanford Status
#3 Stanford (8-1-1, 2-0-1) is coming off a 2-0 home victory over ACC foe Boston College on Thursday. The win marked the 400th victory for Coach Paul Ratcliffe.Â
Stanford is averaging 4.0 goals per game this fall. Twelve different players have goals and eight of the 12 have at least three net-finders.
2023 All-American midfielder Jasmine Aikey leads the squad with eight goals and three assists. Redshirt senior Andrea Kitahata has six goals and six assists. She has recorded a point in nine of 10 matches on the campaign.Â
True freshman Caroline Birkel has started all 10 matches in goal for the Cardinal and owns a goals against average of 0.656 and a save percentage of .643. She recorded her first career shutout in the 2-0 win over Boston College.Â

Midweek action in the ACC provided some key results. On Wednesday, #2 Notre Dame defeated #22 North Carolina, 4-3, in a thriller. On Thursday, #18 Wake Forest won on the road at #9 Duke, 3-2, while #1 Virginia triumphed, 3-0, over Clemson, to remain undefeated.Â
