Robert Harris, who owns experience at Power 4 schools Kentucky, Arkansas and Ohio State, has been named director of strength and conditioning for the men's basketball program at Syracuse.
Â
"Rob brings championship-level experience, toughness and a relentless work ethic to our program," said Syracuse Coach Adrian Autry. "His track record speaks for itself. He knows what it takes to develop elite athletes and build a winning culture.
"We are excited to welcome Rob to the Syracuse family. I know he will play a critical role in pushing our program forward."

Harris joins Coach Adrian Autry's Syracuse staff after two years as men's basketball director of sports performance at Austin Peay. He applied strength training and conditioning programs, designed nutrition plans to help with proper weight gain and loss and oversaw NBA pre-draft workouts for men's basketball athletes.
Â
He spent nine seasons as the men's basketball strength and conditioning coach at Kentucky. During his tenure with the Wildcats, he trained more than 20 players who became NBA draft selections. Kentucky advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times, including a Final Four trip, while Harris was on the staff.
Â
Harris gained Power 4 coaching experience working with football strength and conditioning at Ohio State (2010) and Arkansas (2013-14). Those two stints were sandwiched around two seasons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the NFL Cincinnati Bengals (2011-13).
Â
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education from Kentucky State in 2009 and a Master of Science in sports administration at Eastern Kentucky in 2010.
